The Goldfish's Golden Wish

Maya sat by the pond, her messy brown **hair** blowing in the gentle breeze. She was waiting for something magical to happen, just like in her storybooks.

Suddenly, the water began to shimmer. A tiny **goldfish** popped its head above the surface, but this wasn't an ordinary fish. Its scales sparkled like tiny stars, and it spoke!

"Hello, Maya! I've been waiting for someone with a kind heart," the goldfish said with a smile.

Maya's eyes grew wide. "You can talk?!"

"I can do more than talk," the goldfish replied. "Take this." It flipped a beautiful **orange** marble toward her. "This is my magic gift. Whatever you wish for will come true, but only if you use it to help someone else."

Maya held the warm marble in her hand. She thought about her neighbor, Mrs. Chen, who couldn't walk to the park anymore to see the ducks. Maya closed her eyes and made her wish.

The next day, Maya was **swimming** in her backyard pool when something amazing happened. The water began to glow, and suddenly she wasn't in her pool anymore! She was in a magical underwater kingdom filled with colorful coral and singing fish.

An elderly turtle approached her slowly. "Thank you for your kind wish, Maya. Mrs. Chen can now visit the ducks whenever she wants through her dreams."

Maya swam back to the surface and found herself in her pool again, but everything looked different now—more magical, more alive.

That evening, as Maya sat beneath the **palm** tree in her yard, the goldfish appeared once more.

"You used your gift wisely," it said. "True magic comes from kindness."

Maya smiled, touching the orange marble around her neck. She had learned that the best wishes are the ones that make others happy. And from that day on, she never looked at the pond—or her neighbors—the same way again.
