The Goldfish's Golden Promise

Lila loved running through the meadow behind her house, especially on sunny mornings when the grass sparkled with dew. One day, she followed a sparkling butterfly until she reached a place she'd never seen before—a crystal-clear stream that wound around a strange, pyramid-shaped rock that glimmered in the sunlight.

Curious, Lila knelt by the water's edge. The stream was so clear she could see smooth stones at the bottom, each one painted by nature in different colors. Suddenly, something flashed orange beneath the surface. A goldfish! But this was no ordinary fish—it had long, flowing golden hair that floated like silk ribbons in the water, shimmering with all the colors of sunset.

"Hello, little one," the goldfish spoke, and Lila nearly fell backward in surprise. "I am Finn, the keeper of promises. Rub my pyramid rock three times and make a wish."

Lila's heart raced with excitement. She reached out and touched the pyramid-shaped rock. One rub. Two rubs. Three rubs. "I wish," she said bravely, "that everyone in the world could feel as happy as I do right now."

Finn's golden hair swirled like a whirlwind of glitter. The water began to glow, and tiny bubbles rose to the surface, each carrying a spark of light. They floated up into the sky and spread across the meadow, over the hills, and beyond.

"Your wish has been granted," Finn said with a smile. "Happiness, like water, flows everywhere. You've reminded me that the best wishes are the ones we share."

Lila waved goodbye as Finn disappeared beneath the sparkling water. Running home that day, she noticed something wonderful—her neighbor was laughing, her brother was humming, and even the grumpy old baker was whistling a tune. Some magic, Lila realized, is meant to be shared with everyone.
