The Goldfish's Crystal Pyramid

Leo loved baseball more than anything. Every afternoon, he'd practice his swing in the backyard, dreaming of hitting the perfect home run. But there was one problem — Leo had no one to play with.

One sunny Tuesday, Leo hit the ball with all his might. It sailed over the fence and — splash! — landed right in the neighbor's swimming pool.

Leo rushed over, but when he peered into the sparkling blue water, he couldn't believe his eyes. A tiny goldfish with scales like sunset clouds floated near the surface. And the goldfish was... smiling?

"Hello, Leo!" said the fish, in a voice that sounded like bubbles and laughter. "I'm Cleo. That was quite a hit!"

Leo's mouth fell open. "You can talk?"

"Of course!" Cleo flipped her tail happily. "And I can show you something magical. Come closer... look deep into the pool."

Leo leaned over the edge. At the bottom of the pool sat something amazing — a beautiful crystal pyramid, glowing with golden light. It was made of transparent blocks, each one shimmering like a diamond.

"That's the Pyramid of Wishes," Cleo explained. "Each block holds someone's special dream. See that space at the top? That's where your wish belongs."

Leo thought hard. "I wish... I wish I had friends to play baseball with."

Cleo swam in a happy circle. "The pyramid likes your wish! But first, you must give something in return. What can you add to make someone else's wish come true?"

Leo looked at his favorite baseball, then at the empty golden space in the pyramid. He thought about how lonely he felt, and how other kids must feel lonely too.

"I'll teach anyone who wants to learn how to play," Leo promised. "Even if they've never held a bat before."

The crystal pyramid blazed with brilliant light! A new block appeared — made of pure friendship — and the goldfish did a joyful flip.

"Your wish is granted, Leo!" Cleo sang out. "Tomorrow, three children will move in next door. Two twins and their little sister. And guess what? They all love baseball!"

Leo's baseball floated up from the bottom of the pool, right into his hand. It shimmered with magic.

"Thank you, Cleo!" Leo waved goodbye to his new friend.

The next day, Leo met the new neighbors. By sunset, the backyard was filled with laughter as four new friends played baseball together. And sometimes, when Leo hit the ball especially far, he could almost hear a tiny goldfish cheering from somewhere nearby.
