The Goldfish and the Not-So-Scary Zombie

In a cozy orange pond lived a tiny goldfish named Gill. He was no ordinary fish—Gill had shimmering scales that sparkled like rainbow drops in the sunlight. Every day, he swam past the orange trees that grew along the pond's edge, their branches hanging low with sweet fruit.

One afternoon, Gill noticed something peculiar. A strange figure shuffled toward the pond, arms outstretched, making soft groaning noises. It was a zombie! But this zombie looked different—he had a friendly smile, bright orange eyes, and he wore a colorful bandana.

"Don't be scared, little fish," the zombie said gently. "I'm Zed, and I need your help. I've lost my magic padel, and without it, I can't open the portal to my home."

Gill swam closer. "What's a padel?"

"It's a magical golden ball that glows when true friends hold it together," Zed explained. "I dropped it somewhere near this pond. Will you help me find it?"

Gill had never talked to a zombie before, but Zed seemed kind, not scary at all. Together they searched—Zed looked along the banks while Gill swam through the water, checking under lily pads and around smooth stones.

Suddenly, something caught Gill's eye. A glowing golden orb nestled between two orange roots! He nudged it with his nose, and it pulsed with warm light. "Zed! I found it!"

Zed's orange eyes lit up. "Wonderful! Now, hold it with me, Gill."

Gill wasn't sure how a fish could hold a ball, but when Zed reached into the water, something magical happened. The padel lifted into the air between them, glowing brighter and brighter. A swirl of sparkles appeared, and suddenly, Gill could see through to another world—one filled with more orange trees, laughing creatures, and a beautiful castle.

"That's my home," Zed said softly. "But I think I'd rather stay here with my new friend."

Gill smiled, bubbles rising from his mouth. "And I learned that even zombies can be wonderful friends."

From that day on, Zed visited Gill every afternoon. They would share sweet oranges and talk about their worlds. And Gill understood something important: sometimes the scariest-looking creatures make the best friends, and true friendship is the most powerful magic of all.
