The Goldfish and the Lonely Zombie
Lily's pet goldfish, Fin, was no ordinary fish. He had sparkly orange scales and loved to watch Lily play games on her iPhone through his glass bowl. Every evening, Lily would tap the screen, and Fin would swim along, pretending to catch the tiny digital characters.
One magical night, when the moon glowed like a giant pearl, Fin noticed something strange in the garden. A little zombie boy sat by the pond, looking sad and lonely. He wasn't scary at all—he had green skin, patchy clothes, and the sweetest smile Fin had ever seen.
The zombie boy, whose name was Zed, sighed. "I wish I had a friend. Everyone runs away when they see me."
Fin swam excitedly to the edge of his bowl. "Hello!" he bubbled.
Zed jumped, then peered at the fish. "Did you just talk?"
"Yes! I'm Fin, and I can see you're lonely. Would you like to be friends?"
Zed's eyes lit up. "Really? You want to be friends with a zombie?"
"Of course!" said Fin. "My friend Lily is inside. She has an iPhone, and we can all play together!"
Lily came outside and was surprised to see Zed. But instead of being scared, she remembered what her mother taught her: true friends look at hearts, not appearances. Soon, the three new friends were huddled around the iPhone, playing games and laughing until their sides hurt.
From that day on, Zed visited every evening. He learned that being a zombie wasn't so bad when you had wonderful friends. Fin was happy he'd been brave enough to say hello, and Lily discovered that the best friendships sometimes come from the most unexpected places.
And every night, under the starry sky, a girl, a goldfish, and a zombie would sit together, their hearts full of joy, their magical friendship proving that kindness can turn anyone into your best friend.
