The Goldfish and the Golden Pyramid
Lily's pet goldfish, Finny, was no ordinary fish. Every morning, Lily would drop a tiny orange vitamin tablet into his bowl, and Finny would do a happy flip. But today, Finny didn't swim to the surface. He floated at the bottom, looking sad.
"What's wrong, my friend?" Lily asked, pressing her nose against the glass.
Finny blew bubbles that formed words: "I dreamed of a golden pyramid where all fish can swim in forever-oceans. But it's only a legend."
Lily's eyes widened. That afternoon, she and her best friend Mia followed Finny's directions to the old oak tree at the edge of town. There, grazing peacefully, was the largest bull Lily had ever seen. His horns were shaped like crescent moons, and his fur shimmered like copper in the sunlight.
"The pyramid lies beyond my meadow," the bull spoke in a voice like distant thunder. "But only those with pure hearts may pass."
Lily reached into her pocket and pulled out the remaining vitamin tablet. "I was saving this for Finny, but you look tired."
The bull's eyes softened. He swallowed the vitamin, and suddenly his copper coat turned to pure gold! "You have given freely, without expecting anything in return. That is the greatest magic of all."
With a sweep of his golden horn, the bull revealed a hidden path. At its end stood a miniature pyramid no bigger than a shoebox, but it glowed with amber light. Inside, Lily discovered a magical pool connected to all the world's waters.
"Now," the bull said, "any fish can swim here whenever they wish."
Lily rushed home with Finny's bowl. From that day on, Finny could visit his golden pyramid whenever he dreamed of forever-oceans. And Lily learned that the most wonderful adventures begin with a single act of kindness.
