The Golden Pyramid of Wonder

Lily pressed her nose against the dusty window, watching raindrops race down the glass like tiny swimmers in a competition. Her golden retriever, Barnaby, nudged her hand with his wet nose.

"I wish we could go on an adventure," Lily sighed, scratching behind Barnaby's floppy ears.

Barnaby barked and darted to the closet, dragging out his favorite thing — a faded baseball signed by Lily's grandpa. Outside, the rain had stopped, and something sparkled in the garden where the mud pooled like tiny mirrors.

Lily and Barnaby rushed outside. There, half-buried in the soft earth, gleamed something impossible — a perfect pyramid made of golden light, no bigger than a lunchbox. It hummed with a warm vibration.

When Lily touched it, the pyramid expanded like magic until it towered over them, its walls opening like doors. Inside wasn't darkness but a room filled with swimming pools of swirling colors — blue, purple, pink, all glowing with tiny stars.

"Welcome, brave friend," said a gentle voice. An old woman with silver hair and eyes like summer skies appeared. "This is the Pyramid of Possibilities. Those who enter find what they truly need."

She handed Lily a small glowing capsule. "This is a courage vitamin. Take only when you need it most."

Lily's heart raced. "But what if I'm not brave enough?"

Barnaby licked her face, and the old woman smiled. "True courage isn't never being scared. It's being scared and doing the right thing anyway. Like bringing your old dog out to play, even when he moves slower than he used to. That's brave love."

Lily hugged Barnaby tight. She understood now. The pyramid faded away, leaving only the baseball in her hand and the courage vitamin in her pocket — and the knowledge that the greatest magic had been there all along.

That night, Lily dreamt of swimming through starlit pyramids, Barnaby paddling beside her, both of them brave, both of them loved, both of them exactly as they should be.
