The Golden Goldfish's Magic Wish
Lily loved climbing the old papaya tree in her backyard. Its branches stretched up like green fingers reaching for the sky, and sweet orange fruit hung like little suns. Every morning, she would sit in the tree and eat breakfast while watching the world wake up.
One stormy afternoon, as dark clouds gathered overhead, Lily noticed something strange. A single papaya fruit glowed with soft golden light. Curious, she reached for it, and out popped a tiny goldfish with shimmering scales!
"Hello!" said the goldfish. "My name is Fin. I've been waiting for someone kind to find me."
Lily's eyes widened. "A talking goldfish? In a papaya?"
Fin swam through the air as if it were water. "I'm a magical goldfish. I can grant you one wish, but only if you choose wisely."
Suddenly, lightning cracked across the sky. Thunder rumbled like a giant drum. Rain began to fall, but Lily and Fin stayed dry under the papaya tree's broad leaves.
"What do kids wish for most?" Lily wondered aloud. "Maybe... I could wish for the most powerful vitamin in the world? Something that would make everyone strong and healthy forever?"
Fin nodded, his scales catching the light. "That's a kind wish. But first, you must understand what true strength means."
He swam around her palm, leaving trails of sparkling dust. "The greatest vitamin isn't found in bottles or laboratories. It's hidden in something very special. Can you guess what?"
Lily thought hard. She remembered how her grandmother said honey was nature's medicine. She thought about how vegetables made her grow tall. But those didn't seem quite right for a magical wish.
"Is it... friendship?" Lily asked finally. "Because friends make you feel strong inside?"
Fin did a happy flip in the air. "Exactly! The most powerful vitamin is Vitamin F - Friendship! It makes hearts stronger, helps when you're scared, and never expires."
Lily smiled. She hadn't expected that answer, but it felt perfect. "Then I wish for enough Vitamin Friendship for everyone in the world!"
Fin glowed brighter than ever. "Your wish is granted!" He pressed his nose against her palm, leaving a tiny golden mark shaped like a fish.
The next day at school, Lily noticed something magical. Kids who never played together were sharing snacks. The shy girl in class was laughing with the popular kids. Even the grumpy lunch lady was smiling.
Lily looked at her palm where the golden fish mark still glowed softly. The papaya tree outside her window seemed taller, its leaves shimmering in the sunlight.
That evening, she climbed her tree one more time. No goldfish appeared, but she found something better - her little brother sitting there, waiting to share a papaya with her.
"Want some?" he asked, holding out a slice.
Lily took it and smiled. Vitamin Friendship tasted just like sweet papaya, shared with someone you love.
