The Glowing Pyramid of Friendship

Lily's cat Muffin had the fluffiest orange hair in the whole neighborhood. It was so soft that when Lily hugged her, it felt like holding a cloud. But Muffin had a secret – her hair glowed whenever magical things were nearby.

One sunny afternoon, Muffin started meowing excitedly at the old oak tree in Lily's backyard. Barnaby, Lily's loyal dog, came trotting over, his tail wagging like crazy. Together, the three of them dug beneath the tree's roots until something sparkled in the sunlight.

It was a tiny golden pyramid, no bigger than Lily's palm. The moment she touched it, Muffin's hair began to glow bright orange, and Barnaby let out a happy bark.

"What do you suppose this is?" Lily whispered.

The pyramid suddenly floated upward, and a voice echoed from inside: "This is the Pyramid of Friendship. It appears only when three true friends find each other – a human, a cat, and a dog."

Lily's eyes grew wide. "We're those friends!"

"Indeed," the voice continued. "Inside this pyramid lives my spirit – an ancient Egyptian princess who loved her cat and dog more than anything. For thousands of years, I've waited for friends like you."

Suddenly, the pyramid burst into a thousand golden sparkles, and a translucent girl appeared, smiling warmly. "My name was Cleo. My pyramid was hidden so that someday, special friends would find it and learn its magic."

"What magic?" Lily asked breathlessly.

Cleo pointed at Muffin and Barnaby. "The magic is that true friends come in all shapes and sizes. They may have fur or hair, they may bark or meow, but what matters most is that they love each other.

Lily hugged Muffin, whose hair glowed even brighter now. Barnaby licked Lily's cheek, making everyone laugh.

"Will we ever see you again?" Lily asked.

"Whenever you need reminding of how special friendship is, just hold the pyramid," Cleo said, fading back into the golden light. "But remember, the real magic was already here – in your heart, and in the hearts of your furry friends."

That night, as Lily fell asleep with Muffin curled up beside her and Barnaby at her feet, she understood. The pyramid was wonderful, but the real treasure had been there all along – her best friends, who would always be there for her, no matter what.
