The Girl With Running Hair

Lily had the most extraordinary hair in the whole village. It wasn't just curly—it was alive! Every morning, her golden curls would bounce and wiggle like they had somewhere important to go. Her mother tried everything to tame it: ribbons, braids, even fancy clips shaped like butterflies. But nothing worked.

One day, Lily sat by the village pond, feeling sad that her hair was always so wild. Suddenly, a tiny goldfish popped its head above the water.

"Your hair is beautiful!" said the goldfish. "It's not messy—it's magical!"

"Magical?" Lily asked, her curls practically jumping with curiosity.

"Yes! Your hair is running toward adventure!" The goldfish explained that every time her hair bounced or curled a certain way, it was sensing someone who needed help.

Just then, Lily's hair started running toward the left, tugging gently like an excited puppy. "See?" said the goldfish. "Someone needs us!"

Lily followed her hair as it flowed through meadows and around trees, until it led them to a crying boy named Timmy. He had lost his favorite kite in a tall oak tree.

Lily's hair suddenly stretched upward, her curls reaching like golden ropes until they could grab the kite's string and pull it down. Timmy's tears turned to smiles.

From that day on, Lily never wished for tame hair again. Her running, wondrous curls became the village's treasure, always dancing toward someone in need. And sometimes, if you looked closely at her pond, you'd see that magical goldfish swimming in happy circles, proud of the friend who had learned that the things that make us different are often our greatest gifts.
