The Girl With Moonlight Hair
Luna had the most extraordinary hair in the village. Each curl shimmered like moonlight, and whenever she laughed, tiny sparkles danced from her head to the ground. The other children loved to watch her hair glow at sunset, turning from silver to pink to gold.
One afternoon, while gathering berries near the Whispering Woods, Luna heard a sad groan. Following the sound, she discovered a strange creature covered in dusty leaves. It stumbled about, arms stretched forward, moaning softly.
'Are you... a zombie?' Luna asked, though she wasn't frightened. Her mama had taught her that zombies were only in scary stories, not real life.
The creature stopped and looked up with kind, gentle eyes. 'I am not a zombie,' it said in a voice like rustling leaves. 'I am Bramble, the forest guardian. I've been sleeping for one hundred years, and I'm quite dusty from my long nap.'
Luna giggled. 'You look like a zombie from the storybooks! But you're much nicer.' She reached into her basket and offered him a handful of juicy blackberries. 'Would you like to be my friend?'
Bramble's dusty face broke into a warm smile. 'I would love that. But first, I must find something I lost while sleeping — a magical bull made of starlight. He belongs in the sky, but he wandered off when I fell asleep.'
Luna's hair began to glow brighter than ever before. 'I can help! My hair shows me where magical things are hiding.'
Together, the new friend and the guardian searched through meadows, climbed hills, and followed the sparkle of Luna's hair until they found the star bull quietly grazing in a field of wildflowers. His coat shimmered like silver, and his horns glowed with the light of a thousand stars.
Thank you, little one,' the bull whispered. 'You have a kind heart.' With a mighty leap, the bull jumped into the sky and became the brightest constellation.
That night, Luna made two wishes upon her new friend — that Bramble would never be lonely again, and that she would always have friends who looked different but were kind inside. Both wishes came true, for magic loves a generous heart.
