The Girl With Magic Hair

Lily was six years old, and she had the most extraordinary hair in the world. Every time she ate spinach, her curls would shimmer with tiny rainbow sparkles that only she could see.

One sunny afternoon, Lily's grandmother made a special spinach salad for lunch. "This will make you strong and healthy," Grandma said with a wink. Lily ate every bite, and suddenly—ZING!—her hair began to glow with a soft purple light.

That's when something amazing happened. Her dad's iPhone, sitting on the kitchen table, started to bubble and shimmer like a tiny swimming pool. The screen rippled like water, and inside the phone, Lily saw an entire underwater kingdom!

"Come in!" called a tiny mermaid with emerald scales. "The Magic Hair Kingdom needs your help!"

Lily took a deep breath and reached toward the phone. Her hand slipped right through the screen into cool, sparkling water. Suddenly, she was swimming beside the little mermaid through coral caves filled with singing fish.

"Our friend Starfish is stuck under a heavy rock," the mermaid explained sadly. "Only someone with magic hair can help!"

Lily's glowing curls floated around her like seaweed. She followed the mermaid to where a sad little starfish was trapped. The rock was too heavy to lift, but Lily had an idea.

"Maybe my hair can help!" she said. Her rainbow curls wrapped around the rock, and with a gentle tug, it lifted away! Starfish was free!

"Thank you!" cheered Starfish. "You're the best friend ever!"

When Lily swam back through the iPhone screen, her hair returned to normal. But she knew something magical would happen the next time she ate spinach.

"Grandma," Lily asked at dinner, "Can I have more spinach please?"

Grandma smiled. "Of course, dear. Why do you like it so much?"

Lily touched her hair and whispered, "Because some magic is worth eating your vegetables for."
