The Girl With Lightning Hair

Mira had the most unusual hair in the whole village of Starfall. It wasn't brown or black or yellow like other children's hair. Her hair was the color of a ripe orange, glowing softly like sunset captured in silky strands.

But that wasn't even the strangest part. Whenever Mira felt really happy or helped someone, tiny sparks would dance through her orange hair. It was like lightning trapped in tangles!

The other children thought this was magical. "Make it spark again, Mira!" they'd beg, and she'd laugh until her hair crackled with tiny bolts that smelled like rain and fresh magic.

One summer evening, a terrible storm blew over Starfall. The village square went dark when the old lamp post shattered. No one could see their way home, and the little ones were scared.

Mira's heart ached to help. She closed her eyes and thought about everyone being safe and warm. She thought so hard about helping that her orange hair began to glow brighter and brighter.

Suddenly, her hair erupted with soft lightning—not scary lightning, but gentle, warm light that illuminated everything like a thousand tiny stars. The sparks cascaded down her shoulders and floated upward, creating a glowing pathway through the dark square.

"Follow me!" Mira called, and her hair guided everyone home safely, each spark winking goodbye as they reached their doors.

The next morning, the village elder gave Mira a special ribbon the color of sunrise. "Your hair isn't strange," she said. "It's your heart shining through."

Mira touched her orange ponytail and smiled. Sometimes the things that make us different are exactly what make us wonderful.
