The Girl Who Tamed the Starry Bull
Lily had the most extraordinary hair. It changed color with her moods — purple when she was curious, gold when she was happy, silver when she was sleepy. Every night, she brushed it under the window where the stars twinkled back like tiny friends.
One evening, during a crackling lightning storm that painted the sky in flashes of purple and green, Lily saw something amazing. A giant bull made of stars had fallen from the constellation Taurus! His coat shimmered like captured starlight, and his horns glowed with ancient magic.
Max, her brave little dog with ears that flopped when he ran, barked wildly at the creature. But instead of being frightened, Lily felt her hair turn warm pink — she was curious.
"Don't be afraid," she whispered to the star bull. His voice rumbled like distant thunder. "I've lost my way home to the sky," the bull said sadly. "The Great Sphinx guards the path, and I cannot solve her riddle."
Lily's hair turned bright orange — determination! "I'll help you!" She climbed onto the star bull's back, and Max bounded beside them as they galloped toward the mysterious pyramid on the hill.
The Sphinx waited there, her lion body shimmering with sand-colored light. Her riddle echoed: "I have a face but no eyes, I have wings but cannot fly, I speak without a mouth. What am I?"
Lily's hair spun like a cotton candy cloud — she was thinking hard. Then she gasped. "A story!"
The Sphinx smiled, and her stone face softened. "Correct, child. Your heart is as bright as the stars themselves."
She opened a golden pathway of light straight to the heavens. The star bull thanked Lily with a gentle nuzzle, leaving a constellation-shaped patch in her hair that sparkled permanently.
Now every night, Lily and Max look up at Taurus, and the bull winks his glowing horns. Her magical hair still changes colors, but the star-shaped patch always glows gold — a reminder that friendship and courage can light the way home, even through the darkest storms.
