The Girl Who Saved a Zombie

Lily had the most extraordinary hair in her class. It wasn't just brown or blonde—it changed colors like magic! When she was happy, her hair shimmered like sunshine. When she was excited, it turned pink like cotton candy. And when she was curious, it sparkled purple like grapes.

One hot summer day, Lily ran to the swimming pool in her backyard. She loved swimming more than anything! The cool water felt like hugs from a thousand tiny bubbles. But today, something strange floated in the deep end.

It looked like a boy about Lily's age, but his skin was pale and his clothes were soggy and torn. His eyes were dark and sleepy. Lily gasped—a zombie! But then she noticed something. The zombie wasn't scary. He looked lonely and confused.

The zombie's name was Zane, and he had fallen into the pool while trying to find his way home. He wasn't like the zombies in stories. Zane was just a regular kid who had wandered away from his family and gotten lost in the woods. He had fallen into the pool by accident!

Lily's magical hair began to glow bright yellow—her color for helping others. She reached out her hand.

"I'll help you, Zane," she promised. "We can find your family together."

Zane smiled, his eyes twinkling. Lily dried him off with a fluffy towel and wrapped him in her favorite blanket. They walked through the neighborhood, and Lily's magical hair glowed brighter and brighter, like a golden beacon.

Soon, they saw a worried family searching everywhere. "Zane!" his mother cried, hugging him tight. "We were so worried!"

Lily beamed as Zane introduced her to his family. Her hair shimmered all the colors of the rainbow—pink for joy, green for friendship, blue for peace.

"Thank you for saving our boy," Zane's father said. "You have the kindest heart."

That night, Lily snuggled into bed, her hair glowing softly like a nightlight. She had learned something wonderful: sometimes things that seem scary are really just someone who needs help. And with kindness and courage, even a zombie can become a best friend.

The end.
