The Girl Who Could Speak to Water

Lily had the most extraordinary curly hair that bounced when she walked. Every morning, she spent hours brushing it, but the tangles always came back—especially on windy days.

One summer afternoon, Lily was running through the park when she discovered something magical. Behind a cluster of oak trees, there was a pool she'd never seen before. The water shimmered with colors that changed like a rainbow.

"Hello?" Lily whispered, leaning over the edge.

The water bubbled. "Hello, Lily!" it bubbled back.

Lily jumped! The water could talk!

"I'm the Spirit of this pool," the water explained. "I've been waiting for someone with curious hair like yours."

"My hair?" Lily touched her curls. "But it's always tangled!"

"That's because it's full of magic," said the water. "Every curl catches a different adventure. Would you like to see?"

Lily nodded eagerly.

The water swirled and formed a picture. It showed a boy with messy hair sitting alone on a bench, crying.

"That's Tom," said Lily. "He just moved here. He has no friends."

"Your hair is telling you to help him," the water said softly. "True magic isn't just about wonders—it's about kindness."

Lily understood. She stood up and started running back to the playground. When she found Tom, she smiled and said, "Want to play tag?"

Tom's face lit up. Together, they spent the whole afternoon running and laughing. And when Lily looked in the mirror that night, her hair was perfectly smooth and shiny—because the best magic of all comes from friendship.
