The Garden Zombie's Secret

Lily was the best nature spy in the neighborhood. Every morning, she crept through her garden with her magnifying glass, watching the beetles march and the butterflies dance. But today, something strange caught her eye.

Behind the tall palm tree, something was moving. Very slowly. Something green.

Lily gasped. It looked like a zombie! But this zombie wasn't scary at all. It had flowers for eyes and leaves for hair, and it moved so slowly that a snail could win a race against it.

"Hello," said Lily bravely.

The zombie stopped. Its flower eyes twinkled. "Hello, little spy. I am Zozo, and I move at the speed of growing things."

Zozo explained that he was a Garden Guardian, created by magic to protect special plants. But he had a problem—a big, grumpy bull named Bruno kept trampling through the garden at night, smashing all the tender seedlings!

"I need your help," Zozo said sadly. "I'm too slow to stop him."

Lily's mind raced. She couldn't fight a bull, but maybe she could understand him.

That night, Lily hid behind the palm tree and watched. Sure enough, Bruno the bull came plodding through. But he wasn't being mean—he was carefully stepping around flowers, his huge hooves gentle as feathers. He was heading straight for the water fountain!

"Oh!" Lily realized. "Bruno isn't destructive. He's thirsty!"

The next day, Lily told Zozo the good news. Together, they dug a beautiful new water hole just for Bruno, filled with fresh, cool water. They planted sweet clover around it—Bruno's favorite snack.

That night, Bruno found the water hole and drank happily. From then on, he never trampled the garden again. Instead, he became its protector, chasing away rabbits that might eat the vegetables.

Zozo and Lily became the best of friends. The slow-moving zombie taught Lily patience, and the quick-thinking girl taught Zozo that sometimes problems have simple solutions.

And every evening, if you look carefully behind the palm tree, you might still see them: a zombie guardian, a brave girl spy, and a gentle bull, all watching over their magical garden together.
