The Garden Pyramid's Secret Friends
Mia was chasing fireflies in her backyard when she saw something strange. A tiny golden pyramid no bigger than a shoebox glowed near the old oak tree. It sparkled like captured sunshine!
When Mia touched its smooth surface, the pyramid grew taller and wider until she could step inside. The walls shimmered with stars!
"Welcome, young friend," rumbled a deep voice. A giant bear with fur like chocolate pudding sat beside a crackling fire. "I am Barnaby. This is our meeting place."
Beside him stood a bull with a golden nose ring and fur the color of autumn leaves. "I'm Bucky!" the bull said with a cheerful snort. "We've waited fifty years for someone to find us."
"Fifty years?" Mia's eyes went wide.
"Time works differently inside the pyramid," Barnaby explained, offering Mia a honey cake. "Bucky and I were toys once. A boy and girl who were best friends left us here to guard their friendship promise."
"What promise?"
Bucky's brown eyes softened. "They swore to always meet at this pyramid whenever they needed help. They grew up, but we kept waiting. Now you're here!"
Mia thought about her friend Leo, who had moved away last month. They'd promised to stay best friends forever, but she hadn't written to him in weeks.
"Friendship is like this pyramid," Barnaby said gently. "It may look small from the outside, but inside, it's bigger and more magical than you imagine."
Mia felt warm inside. "Will you still be here tomorrow?"
"Always," both friends said together.
That night, Mia wrote Leo the longest letter ever. And every day after school, she visited her pyramid friends, who taught her that real friendship fits in your heart but makes your whole world bigger.
The pyramid still glows in Mia's garden, waiting for anyone who believes in the magic of friendship.
