The Garden Pool Magic

Lily discovered the hidden pool behind her grandmother's garden one summer afternoon. The water shimmered like liquid sapphires, and dragonflies danced above its surface. But the most magical thing was what happened when she looked into the water.

A strange, shuffling creature emerged from the bushes. It moved slowly, with moss-covered skin and leaves stuck to its clothes. "A zombie!" Lily gasped, remembering her brother's scary stories. She almost ran away, but something made her stay.

"I'm not a zombie," the creature said sadly. "I'm just a very slow garden guardian. I've been watching this pool for three hundred years."

Suddenly, a magnificent bull appeared from the other side, its horns shining like polished gold. Lily trembled, but to her surprise, the bull knelt gracefully beside the pool.

"This is Bullion," the guardian said, patting the bull's massive shoulder. "He's the most gentle creature in the garden."

Lily realized her mistake. She had judged both creatures by how they looked, not by who they really were. "I'm sorry," she said softly. "I thought you were scary."

"Most people do," the guardian replied with a slow, kind smile. "But the magical pool shows us the truth." He pointed to the water.

Lily looked into the pool again. Instead of scary monsters, she saw beautiful guardians protecting something precious—a tiny, glowing sprout growing in the center of the pool.

"This is the last Dream Flower," Bullion said gently. "It blooms only once every hundred years. We protect it so children's wishes can come true."

Lily made her wish that day: to never judge anyone by appearances again. And when she looked into her own reflection, she saw something new—a girl with a kind and brave heart.

That summer, Lily visited the pool every day. She learned that the scariest-looking creatures could be the kindest friends, and that magic lives in the most unexpected places. Sometimes, the best adventures start when you stop running away and start looking closer.
