The Garden of Magic Colors
Luna was only seven years old, but she knew secrets about the garden that no one else did. While other children saw ordinary plants, Luna saw magic waiting to happen.
Her best friend, a shy boy named Oliver, sat on her porch with his head in his hands. "I lost my lucky orange marble," he sniffled. "It's gone forever."
"Don't be sad," Luna said, taking his hand. "I have something even better to show you."
She led him to the far corner of the garden where the sunlight danced through leaves in golden patches. There, Luna pulled out a shiny orange from her pocket—the brightest one she had ever found at the market. Then she gathered handfuls of fresh green spinach from her mother's garden patch.
"What are you doing?" Oliver asked, his eyes wide.
"Making magic," Luna whispered mysteriously.
She squeezed the orange into a small jar until it was filled with sweet golden juice. Then she tore the spinach leaves into tiny pieces, dropping them into the orange liquid. Something strange began to happen. The mixture started to swirl and sparkle, turning into the most brilliant emerald green anyone had ever seen.
"Watch closely," Luna said, dipping a paintbrush into the glowing mixture.
She painted a small butterfly on Oliver's palm. To his amazement, the butterfly began to flutter its wings—then it actually flew off his hand, trailing sparkles like tiny stars!
Oliver gasped. "It's real!"
Luna painted more butterflies, a dragon, even a tiny castle. Each drawing came to life, dancing around them in a swirl of color and light. For the first time all day, Oliver laughed—a real, happy laugh.
"Your lucky marble was small," Luna said, squeezing her friend's hand. "But this magic is ours. It's big enough to share forever."
And that afternoon, Oliver learned that the best treasure wasn't something you could lose in the grass. The best treasure was a friend who knew exactly how to turn an ordinary orange and some garden spinach into the most wonderful day of your life.
From then on, whenever Oliver felt sad, he would find Luna in her garden. Together, they would mix their special potion and create magic—because real friends always know how to turn something small into something extraordinary.
