The Garden of Forgotten Things

Lily found the iPhone beneath the old oak tree, its screen glowing with a strange purple light. Most kids would have run for help, but Lily was curious. She pressed her finger to the screen, and suddenly she could hear whispering.

"Hello?" she called out.

From behind the bushes emerged not a monster, but a gentle zombie named Zeb. He wasn't scary at all—he wore a polka-dotted tie and carried a watering can.

"Don't be afraid," Zeb said kindly. "I'm the gardener of forgotten things. I take care of what others have left behind."

He led Lily to a hidden pond where a golden goldfish named Fin swam in circles. Fin was no ordinary fish—he had lived for over one hundred years and remembered everything.

"People forget what matters," Fin bubbled, his voice sounding like tiny bells. "They forget to be kind, to notice beauty, to care for each other."

Lily's iPhone buzzed. A message appeared: **What will you remember?**

She looked at Zeb, who tended to wilted flowers with such tenderness. She watched Fin, who swam happily despite living in a small pond. Both had found joy despite being forgotten by the world.

"I'll remember kindness," Lily promised. "And I'll never forget my new friends."

The iPhone's purple light faded, but something magical remained. Lily visited the hidden garden every day, helping Zeb care for forgotten flowers and listening to Fin's stories. She learned that the most beautiful things in life are often the ones others overlook.

And whenever she saw someone being left out or forgotten, Lily remembered her friends and made sure no one ever felt invisible again.

After all, everyone deserves to be remembered—zombies, goldfish, and especially each other.
