The Friendship Cable

Luna loved her wild, curly hair. It bounced when she skipped and swirled when she spun. But she wished she had someone special to share her adventures with.

One rainy afternoon, Luna explored her grandmother's dusty attic. Hidden beneath a stack of old quilts, she found something strange—a thick, silver cable with a glowing blue tip. It hummed like a sleepy cat.

"What are you?" Luna whispered. The cable wiggled!

Curious, she touched the glowing tip. Suddenly, the cable wrapped gently around her wrist and up her arm, winding through her hair like a shimmering ribbon. Her whole body tingled with warmth.

Then she heard a voice in her mind. *"Hello? Is someone there?"*

Luna gasped. "Who are you?"

*"I'm Finn,"* the voice replied. *"I live in the Lighthouse of Lost Things. This friendship cable connected us!"*

Every day after school, Luna would touch the cable and talk to Finn. He told her about magical treasures in his lighthouse—marbles that held captured rainbows, feathers from birds that sang lullabies, and buttons that could make you fly.

One day, Finn sounded sad. *"The lighthouse lamp is broken. Ships can't find their way home in the fog."*

Luna's heart squeezed. "I want to help!"

The cable pulsed brighter than ever. Luna felt herself being pulled—zooming through starry skies and whispering clouds—until she landed on a rocky island. There stood a crooked lighthouse, and a boy with messy hair exactly like hers!

"Finn!" she cried.

They hugged, and the cable wrapped around them both, glowing with golden light. Together, they climbed to the top of the lighthouse. Luna held the cable while Finn twisted it around the broken lamp. SNAP! The cable transformed into pure light, beaming through the fog.

Down below, ships honked their horns. The captains were safe!

Luna had to go home, but she wasn't lonely anymore. She ran her fingers through her hair, where a tiny piece of the magic cable still shimmered, reminding her that friendship can connect hearts across any distance.
