The Friendly Zombie's Golden Secret
Lily and Max loved exploring their attic on rainy days. Their curly hair bounced as they dug through old boxes, searching for treasure. Today they found something strange—a glowing golden pyramid hidden beneath a pile of dusty books.
"It's beautiful!" Lily whispered, carefully lifting the pyramid. A mysterious cable trailed from its base, shimmering with rainbow colors.
Suddenly, the pyramid began to hum, and a door appeared in the attic wall. The children stepped through into a magical world where everything was made of candy.
That's where they met Zed—a little zombie with green skin, messy blue hair, and the kindest smile. Unlike scary zombies in stories, Zed loved gardening and grew magical flowers that sang lullabies.
"Welcome!" Zed cheered. "Will you play padel with me?"
Lily had never heard of padel, but Zed handed her a racquet. The game was like tennis but more fun, played on a court made of marshmallow grass. Every time the ball bounced, it made musical notes—ding! dong! la-la!
They played until sunset, laughing and making new friends. Zed taught them that being different doesn't mean being scary. Sometimes the creatures that seem frightening are just lonely and want to play.
"Your cable led them here," Zed said, pointing to Lily's pocket. The golden pyramid's cable was still glowing. "It chooses kind hearts."
As the children prepared to leave, Zed pressed something into Lily's hand—a tiny crystal pyramid. "Now you can visit anytime. But remember, friendship is the greatest magic of all."
Back in their attic, Lily and Max hugged. Some adventures teach you that the best discoveries aren't treasures at all—they're friends waiting to be made, even in the most unexpected places.
And sometimes, even a zombie just wants someone to play padel with.
