The Friendly Pool Guardian

Lily loved summer days, especially when her grandmother took her to the old swimming pool in the park. The water always sparkled like diamonds under the sun, and Lily could spend hours splashing and playing.

One afternoon, while practicing her swimming, Lily noticed something strange. Green bubbles began rising from the deep end of the pool. At first, she thought it was just the pool filter acting weird again. But then a figure emerged - something that looked like a zombie! It had seaweed hair and shimmering scales instead of skin.

Lily wanted to run away, but curiosity made her stay. The creature waved at her shyly.

"Hello," it said in a bubbly voice. "I'm Zola, the pool's guardian. I've been watching you swim all summer."

"You're... not scary?" Lily asked, surprised.

Zola laughed, creating more magical bubbles. "No! I just look different because I live underwater. I protect this pool and keep the water clean and safe for everyone."

Every day after that, Lily met Zola at the pool. They played water tag, practiced swimming together, and Zola even taught Lily special water tricks. The other children couldn't see Zola - only Lily, because she had been brave enough to stay and say hello.

"The real magic," Zola told her, "is that friendship doesn't care what someone looks like. What matters is kindness and heart."

Lily learned that day that things aren't always what they seem. Sometimes, the scariest-looking creatures can become the best friends. And the best adventures start with being brave enough to say hello.
