The Friendly Monster Under the Bed
Max was playing with his dad's old iPhone, using the special camera app to take pictures of his room. He loved how it made ordinary things look magical. His little sister Mia danced in the background, wearing her bright orange dress and twirling like a ballerina.
"Look what I found!" Mia called from under the bed. She pulled out a dusty old cable that Max had never seen before. It sparkled with tiny lights, even though it wasn't plugged into anything.
"That's weird," Max said, zooming in with the iPhone camera. On the screen, the cable glowed like a rainbow. "It's beautiful!"
Suddenly, something moved in the corner of the room. A small figure stepped out from behind the toy chest. It had greenish skin, messy hair, and walked a bit funny—like a zombie from the movies! Max and Mia gasped.
"Don't be scared," the little zombie said in a squeaky voice. "I'm Zed! I've been sleeping under your bed for fifty years. That magic cable woke me up!"
Zed wasn't scary at all. He was actually quite friendly, with big kind eyes and a shy smile. He explained that he was a guardian zombie, sent to protect children from bad dreams. The cable was his magical connection to the dream world.
That night, Max and Mia learned that sometimes things that seem scary at first might turn out to be wonderful friends. Zed showed them how to catch beautiful dreams with the glowing cable and keep nightmares away. The iPhone camera captured all their adventures together.
Max realized that imagination and friendship were the strongest magic of all. Even zombies could be kind, even old cables could sparkle, and even ordinary orange dresses could look magical in the right light.
The next morning, Zed was gone, but Max found a small note: "Thank you for waking me up. Remember, true friends can be found anywhere—even where you least expect them."
Max smiled, holding the magical cable. Sometimes the best adventures are the ones that find you when you least expect them.
