The Friendly Ghost in the Phone
Lily was seven years old and loved exploring. One rainy Saturday, she was playing in the attic when she found something shiny under an old dusty box. It was her dad's ancient iPhone, tucked away for years.
"What's this?" Lily wondered, wiping away cobwebs. The screen flickered to life with a golden glow. A tiny game appeared on the screen - a little green zombie character with big friendly eyes, dancing around.
The zombie in the game waved at her! Lily gasped. Then, magically, the little zombie popped right out of the phone, no bigger than her thumb. He did a silly little dance and bowed.
"I'm Zippy!" he squeaked. "I was stuck in that phone for three years!"
Lily giggled. "I'm Lily! Want to meet my cat, Mittens?"
Mittens, a fluffy orange cat, padded into the attic. Her eyes went wide when she saw Zippy. But instead of being scared, she purred and let the tiny zombie climb onto her back.
"To the meadow!" Zippy cried, pointing. "I need to find my friend!"
Lily carried Mittens (with Zippy riding along) to the backyard meadow. There, they saw something amazing - the neighbor's bull, Barnaby, was stuck in the mud! The gentle giant had wandered over and couldn't get out.
"Oh no!" Lily cried. "We have to help him!"
Zippy hopped off Mittens and grew to regular size. "I can help!" he said. He wasn't scary at all - he was strong and kind. Together with Mittens (who meowed encouragingly), they pushed and pulled while Lily called for her dad.
Soon, Barnaby was free! The bull gave them all a grateful nudge with his soft nose.
"You judged me by how I look," Zippy said gently, "but I just wanted to help."
Lily hugged her new friends. "I'm sorry, Zippy. I learned that true friends can be found anywhere - even in an old phone!"
That day, Lily discovered the most important lesson: never judge someone by how they appear. Sometimes the scariest-looking creatures have the biggest hearts, and the best friends come in the most unexpected packages - even tiny green zombies from dusty old phones.
