The Friendly Detective Zombie

Lily loved mysteries. Every Saturday, she'd grab her dad's old iPhone and pretend to be the world's greatest detective. She'd sneak around the neighborhood peeking through fences, searching for clues, and writing secret notes in her tiny notebook.

One rainy afternoon, Lily was playing spy in her attic when she heard a soft groan from inside an old trunk. Her heart thumped like a drum. Could it be a ghost? A monster? She crept closer, the iPhone flashlight trembling in her hand.

"Hello?" she whispered.

The lid slowly creaked open. Out popped a green stuffed zombie with mismatched button eyes and floppy purple hair. He looked more silly than scary.

"I'm Zed," the zombie said in a fuzzy, mumbly voice. "And I've been waiting for a friend."

Lily blinked. "You're a real zombie?"

"A friendship zombie," Zed explained. "I was made to be someone's best friend, but I got lost years ago. I've been trapped in this trunk ever since."

Lily's detective instincts kicked in. "Don't worry, Zed. I'll help you find your way home!"

Using her iPhone's camera as a magnifying glass, Lily discovered a faded tag on Zed's foot: "Made with love for Emma,生日快乐."

"Emma's birthday!" Lily gasped. "That's Chinese for happy birthday!"

Through clever detective work (and lots of asking neighbors), Lily found Emma—all grown up with a daughter of her own. Emma had cried when her special zombie disappeared during a move years ago.

That night, Lily learned something wonderful: sometimes the best mysteries aren't about catching bad guys. They're about bringing friends back together. And Zed? He finally got the birthday party he'd waited so long for—complete with a tiny iPhone-shaped cake made just for him.

Now Lily and Zed solve mysteries together, proving that even a zombie and a spy can become the best of friends.
