The Friendliest Zombie in the Forest
In a magical forest where fireflies danced like tiny stars, a clever little fox named Rusty lived in a cozy hollow tree. Every evening, he watched his best friend Baxter, a big golden dog, running through the meadow chasing butterflies.
One warm summer night, Rusty called out to his friend. "Baxter! Tonight we go swimming in the Moonlight Pond! I've heard it's magical under the full moon!"
Baxter's tail wagged so hard his whole body wiggled. Together they trotted through the whispering forest until they found the sparkling pond. The water glowed with soft silver light, and tiny fish swam in patterns that looked like shooting stars.
Just as they were about to jump in, a slow shuffling sound came from behind an old oak tree. A strange creature stepped into the moonlight—a zombie with patchwork fur, one floppy ear, and gentle sad eyes.
Baxter growled softly, but Rusty tilted his head curiously. "Hello there. I'm Rusty. What's your name?"
"I'm Zumble," the zombie whispered. "I've been wandering this forest for three hundred years, all alone. Everyone runs away when they see me."
Rusty noticed tears in Zumble's eyes. "Would you like to swim with us?"
Zumble's face lit up. "Really? Nobody ever wants to play with me."
"Well, we do!" said Baxter, his tail wagging again. "The more friends, the more fun!"
All three friends jumped into the magical pond. Something wonderful happened—the water made them all glow like moonbeams! They splashed and played until dawn, laughing and swimming together. Zumble's patchwork fur became smooth and shiny, and his smile was the brightest of all.
From that night on, the fox, the dog, and their zombie friend gathered every full moon. They learned that the best friends aren't always who you expect, and kindness can turn loneliness into the happiest adventures.
