The Friendliest Zombie Bear

friendbearzombie

Lily was seven years old and lived in a house with a garden full of secrets. Every night, she whispered stories to her stuffed bear, Barnaby, who sat on her pillow with one button eye and a smile that never faded.

One moonlit night, Lily heard a rustling in the garden. She grabbed Barnaby and tiptoed outside in her pajamas. There, beneath the ancient oak tree, she saw something impossible—a creature shuffling slowly among the pumpkins. It had patchy fur, loose stitches showing, and moved like it was half-asleep.

"A zombie!" Lily gasped, hugging Barnaby tight.

But the zombie didn't chase her. It just sat down and looked sad.

Lily stepped closer. "Are you... a zombie bear?"

The creature nodded. Its button eyes twinkled like stars. It was a magical bear who had woken from a long sleep, and all it wanted was a friend.

Lily smiled. "I'm Lily. This is Barnaby. Do you want to play?"

The zombie bear's smile grew wider. It clumsily picked a pumpkin and placed it gently at Lily's feet. A friendship gift.

Every night after that, Lily visited her zombie bear friend. They danced under the moonlight, shared stories, and the zombie bear taught Lily that even the strangest creatures have hearts full of love. Sometimes, the best friends are the ones you least expect—especially the ones who just need someone to see past their scary outsides.

Barnaby never got jealous. He knew Lily's heart was big enough for all the friends in the world.
