The Fox Who Made Friends

Felix the fox loved summer more than anything. Every morning, he would go swimming in the sparkling blue river that flowed through the enchanted forest. The water felt like liquid sunshine against his orange fur.

One day, while swimming, Felix spotted something unusual near the riverbank. A green figure was sitting alone under a papaya tree, looking sad. Felix had heard the older animals talk about the zombie who lived in the forest, but they always said to stay away. Felix was curious, though — this zombie didn't look scary at all. Just lonely.

Felix swam to shore and shook the water from his fur. "Hello," he said bravely. "I'm Felix."

The zombie looked up. Its skin was the color of fresh grass, and its eyes were kind. "I'm Zara," it said softly. "Everyone is afraid of me because I'm a zombie."

"You don't seem scary," Felix said, noticing Zara was holding a papaya. "That looks delicious."

Zara's face lit up. "Papayas are my favorite! Would you like one? They grow on this special tree that only blooms in summer."

Felix sat beside Zara under the papaya tree, and they shared the sweet, orange fruit while watching the river flow. Other animals — rabbits, squirrels, even a shy deer — crept closer when they saw Felix wasn't afraid.

"Zara knows all the best swimming spots," Felix told them. "And she shares papayas!"

Soon, the forest was full of animals swimming and eating papayas together. Zara wasn't alone anymore. The zombie who everyone feared became the most popular friend in the forest, all because one little fox dared to say hello.

That evening, Felix realized something important: sometimes the things we're afraid of are just friends we haven't met yet.
