The Fox Who Lost His Glow
Lila loved visiting the secret garden behind her grandmother's house. But today something was wrong. The magical fox who guarded the garden sat by the stream, his fur dull and gray instead of shimmering orange like usual.
"What happened, Finn?" Lila asked, sitting beside her friend.
Finn sighed, his tail drooping. "The Moon Papaya is gone. Without its magic glow, I've lost my color."
Lila's eyes widened. She knew the Moon Papaya grew only once every hundred years, glowing like a tiny moon in the darkest night. It gave magic to everything in the garden.
"Who took it?"
"The Storm Dragon," Finn whispered. "He flew down from the mountains during the storm last night. His scales were the same silver as moonlight."
Lila grabbed her small backpack. "We'll get it back!"
The journey took them up the misty mountain path. When they reached the dragon's cave, Lila's knees trembled. But Finn pressed his warm side against her leg, and she felt brave.
Inside, the Storm Dragon curled around the glowing Moon Papaya, looking lonely and sad.
"Why did you take it?" Lila asked, her voice shaking.
The dragon lifted his massive head. "I just wanted something beautiful. My cave is so dark."
Lila thought carefully. "You can't keep it. The whole garden needs its magic. But..." she smiled, "we could be friends! You can visit anytime, and I'll bring you papayas from our tree. They're not magical, but they're sweet and sunny."
The dragon's eyes sparkled. "Really?"
"Really!" Finn said.
The dragon returned the Moon Papaya, and as its magic flowed back into the garden, Finn's fur turned shimmering orange again. Even better, the Storm Dragon became their friend, visiting often to share stories and fruit.
That night, Lila learned that sharing something beautiful is better than keeping it all to yourself. And sometimes, the best magic is the kind that brings friends together.
