The Fox Who Danced with Lightning
Felix was a small fox with bright orange fur and a very big problem. Every time a storm rolled over his cozy hillside home, he would hide deep in his burrow, trembling.
"Lightning is scary," he would whisper to himself, pressing his paws over his ears.
One rainy afternoon, as thunder rumbled like a giant's tummy, Felix peeked outside. Something incredible caught his eye. A bolt of lightning had struck an old oak tree, and instead of burning it, the lightning had transformed into a tiny glowing creature!
The little lightning-fox was made of shimmering sparks that crackled softly. She looked frightened, all alone in this strange new world.
Felix's heart went out to her. He bravely stepped out into the rain—something he had never done before during a storm.
"Hello," Felix said gently. "I'm Felix. Are you okay?"
The glowing creature looked up with eyes like mini stars. "I'm Spark," she said, her voice sounding like soft chimes. "I fell from the sky and I don't know how to get home."
Felix thought for a moment. "Maybe you need to go back up?" He pointed to the storm clouds with his nose.
Spark's eyes widened with hope. "But I can't reach that high alone."
"Then I'll help you!" Felix declared. "We can climb the big oak tree together."
As they climbed, Felix explained how he used to be scared of lightning. "But now I see that lightning can be beautiful and kind."
Spark smiled, her glow warming Felix's heart. "And I learned that even a regular fox can be brave and kind."
When they reached the highest branch, a huge lightning bolt appeared above them. Spark's face lit up. "My family!"
Before she left, Spark nuzzled Felix's cheek. "Thank you for being my friend. You're the bravest fox I've ever met."
With a joyful pop, Spark soared up to join her family, creating the most beautiful rainbow Felix had ever seen.
From that day on, Felix never hid from storms. Instead, he would sit on his hill, watching the lightning dance, knowing that somewhere up there, his friend was dancing too.
And sometimes, when the sky was clear, Felix would swear he saw a little spark winking at him from the clouds.
After all, the best friends are the ones who help you be brave—even when you're scared of storms.
