The Fox Who Collected Starlight
Felix the fox had a secret. Every night, when the other animals in Whispering Woods slept, he crept through the moonlit forest collecting fallen stars. He wasn't a regular fox—he was a star spy, tasked with gathering magic before it faded away.
One evening, a tiny rabbit named Pip watched him from behind a mushroom. "Are you a spy?" Pip asked, trembling.
Felix's ears perked up. "A spy? No! I'm a star collector. See?" He showed Pip his pouch, where three tiny stars twinkled like fireflies.
Pip's eyes widened. "My grandmother says stars are like vitamins for dreams. Without them, we forget to imagine."
Felix had never thought of it that way. "Come with me," he said. "I know where the biggest star fell tonight."
Together, the fox and rabbit climbed up Starlight Hill. There, glowing softly beside a blueberry bush, sat a star the size of a walnut.
But as Felix reached for it, a voice called out. "Wait!"
An old owl swooped down. "That star belongs to someone." She pointed to a hedgehog who was crying softly nearby. "He lost his dream when he woke up too soon. That star holds his dream inside."
Felix looked at the beautiful star, then at the sad hedgehog. His heart knew what to do.
He gently nudged the star toward the hedgehog. "Here. Your dream flew away, but I found it."
The hedgehog's eyes lit up as the star melted into his fur like warm honey. "Thank you!" he squeaked. "I was dreaming about having a friend."
Pip nudged Felix. "You're not just a star spy anymore. You're a friend too."
Felix smiled, his orange fur glowing in the starlight. Maybe being a friend was even better than collecting stars. After all, stars were vitamins for dreams, but friends were vitamins for the heart.
And from that night on, Felix still collected stars—but he always shared them with anyone who needed a little more magic in their dreams.
