The Fox Who Collected Starlight

Felix was a small fox with fur the color of autumn leaves. Every night, while other foxes slept, he went running up Star Mountain. His feet tapped lightly on the moonlit path, like soft rain on a roof.

At the summit, Felix carried a special cable made of twisted silver vines. His friend Lila, a wise old owl, had helped him weave it. 'This cable will catch the starlight,' she had said, 'but only if your heart is true.'

Tonight, the sky sparkled with a thousand stars. Felix stretched his silver cable between two ancient pine trees, and tiny starlights floated down like glowing dust. He caught them in small glass jars.

'Don't forget the secret ingredient!' called Lila, swooping down from her perch.

Felix nodded and pulled out his precious bottle. It was filled with water from the Rainbow Spring, hidden deep in the forest's heart. This water shimmered with colors that changed when no one was looking.

Carefully, he mixed three drops of starlight into the magical water. Then he added one tiny scoop of a special vitamin that Lila had given him — a golden powder made from crushed sunbeams. It sparkled as it hit the water, turning it a warm, golden color.

The mixture glowed brighter and brighter until it burst into tiny bubbles. Each bubble floated upward and popped, spreading golden light over the whole forest. Flowers bloomed instantly. Sick animals became strong. Sad children suddenly felt happy.

'You did it again!' cheered Lila. 'Tonight, every creature will sleep with sweet dreams.'

Felix smiled, his amber eyes shining. 'I couldn't do it alone, Lila. Friends make the magic stronger.'

And as dawn painted the sky pink, Felix curled up in his den, knowing that next night, he would go running up Star Mountain again. Because the best magic, he had learned, was the kind you shared with others.
