The Fox Who Brought Sunshine

Felix was no ordinary fox. While other foxes hunted mice, Felix loved swimming in the Sparkle Stream. His orange fur would glisten like autumn leaves as he splashed through the crystal-clear water.

One sunny afternoon, Felix spotted something strange near the old willow tree. It looked like a bear, but it moved slowly—very slowly. Its fur was dull, its eyes droopy, and it shuffled one foot at a time.

"A zombie!" whispered the rabbits, hiding in their burrows. "A zombie bear!"

Felix crept closer, his heart thumping. The creature looked sad, not scary. Its fur had lost its shine, and it sighed deeply.

"Hello?" Felix said kindly.

The bear looked up. "I'm Benny," he mumbled. "I think I'm a zombie now. I can't play anymore. I just want to sleep."

Felix noticed something glinting near Benny's paws. Empty containers! Felix's grandmother had told him about magical vitamins that gave forest animals their energy. Benny hadn't taken his vitamins all winter!

"You're not a zombie," Felix announced. "You just need sunshine vitamins!"

Felix dashed to the sunny meadow where golden flowers grew—the special vitamin flowers! He gathered a bunchessful and brought them back. "Eat these," he said.

Benny nibbled the flowers. Slowly, his fur began to shine. His eyes brightened. He stood up straight!

"I feel... happy!" Benny cheered.

"Now," said Felix, "come swimming with me! The water will wash away the rest of the tiredness."

That afternoon, the fox and the bear played together. Benny wasn't a zombie anymore. He was Benny again—strong, playful, and full of sunshine.

From that day on, Felix taught all the forest animals: sometimes what looks scary is just someone who needs help. And a little friendship, like a little sunshine, can work real magic.
