The Fox's Secret Gift

Lily loved rainy days, especially when lightning painted the sky like glittery ribbons. But today, the old TV cable behind her house was glowing strangely.

Her golden retriever, Barnaby, wagged his tail nervously. Something magical was happening.

Suddenly, a sleek red fox stepped out from behind the cable. But this wasn't just any fox—it walked on two legs and wore a tiny blue vest!

"Greetings, young guardian," said the fox, his voice like gentle chimes. "I'm Felix, keeper of Friendship Vitamins."

Lily's eyes widened. "Friendship Vitamins?"

Felix nodded solemnly. "Every lightning storm releases magic into the earth. This old cable—see how it sparkles?—collects that magic. I transform it into special vitamins that help friendships grow stronger."

Barnaby barked happily, as if he understood completely.

"But today," Felix continued, looking worried, "I need help. The lightning was too powerful. The magic is scattered!"

Lily didn't hesitate. "What can we do?"

"Close your eyes and hold Barnaby's paw," Felix instructed. "Think about your favorite friendship moments."

Lily squeezed Barnaby's soft paw. She remembered sharing her cookies with the new girl at school, helping her little brother learn to ride a bike, and how Barnaby always made her feel better when she was sad.

CRACK! Another lightning bolt flashed. The old cable pulsed with rainbow light. Felix spun in a joyful circle, catching the glowing magic in his paws like snowflakes.

"It's working!" he cried. When the light faded, three tiny sparkling crystals lay on the grass. "Friendship Vitamins! One for you, one for Barnaby, and one... for someone who needs it most."

Lily took her crystal. It felt warm, like sunshine. "Who gets the third one?"

"That's your mission," Felix winked. "Give it to someone whose friendship needs a little magic."

The fox vanished, but Lily knew exactly who needed the third vitamin—the new girl in her class who always sat alone.

Some magic, Lily learned, comes from lightning. But the strongest magic comes from kindness.
