The Fox's Midnight Garden

Lily loved visiting her grandmother's farm, especially the old garden behind the barn. One night, she woke to scratching sounds and peeked out her window. A rusty red **fox** stood by the garden gate, his bushy tail twitching.

"Follow me," the fox seemed to say with his bright eyes. Lily slipped outside in her bare feet. The fox led her to the vegetable patch, where something magical was happening. The **spinach** plants were stretching their leaves toward the moon, as if reaching for silver moonbeams.

But then Lily saw something strange. The tomato plants looked droopy and tired. "They're not **zombie** plants," the fox whispered (yes, he could talk!), "they're just thirsty. The old **bull** who used to carry water from the stream got too old to work anymore."

Lily's heart swelled with kindness. "I can help!" She grabbed her grandmother's watering can and ran to the stream. The cool **water** sparkled under the stars. Lily and the fox worked together, watering every thirsty plant until dawn.

"You have a gardener's heart," the fox said, touching his nose to her forehead. From that night on, Lily understood that magic wasn't just about talking animals or moonlit spinach—it was about caring for living things. And every summer, when the fox appeared with her bushy orange kits, they'd water the garden together under the stars, best friends forever.
