The Fox's Magic Garden
Lily pushed aside the tall cornstalks and discovered a secret garden she'd never noticed before. In the center sat a rusty old watering can, and beside it—a fox with fur like autumn leaves!
"You found my garden!" the fox said, surprising Lily. "I'm Finnegan. Are you here for the magic?"
Lily's eyes widened. "Magic? I was just looking for a place to read."
She held up her iphone, ready to watch cartoons. But Finnegan shook his head. "Oh no, screens won't work here. Only imagination!"
He led her to rows of vegetables. "This spinach makes you strong enough to lift a cloud. Those carrots give you night vision. And over there..." He pointed to a patch of wilted lettuce. "That's where my zombie friend lives."
"Z-ZOMBIE?!" Lily gasped.
"Don't worry! Zara's a garden zombie. She helps things grow!"
From the lettuce patch emerged Zara—not scary at all, but a gentle green creature with flowers in her hair. She sprinkled glitter on the spinach, and suddenly the leaves sparkled!
"See?" Finnegan grinned. "Things aren't always what they seem. Want to try something magical?"
Zara gave Lily a spinach leaf. When she ate it, she felt light as a feather—and could understand what the birds were singing!
"Will you come back?" Finnegan asked as the sun began to set.
"Every day!" Lily promised, realizing her iphone could wait. Real magic was much better.
From then on, Lily visited her magical friends, learning that the best adventures don't need screens—and that even zombies can be kind if you give them a chance.
