The Fox's Glowing Baseball

Rusty was a very special fox. While most foxes had red fur, Rusty's fur was the color of a ripe orange, bright as sunshine. He lived in the woods behind the town's baseball field, where he loved to watch children play every afternoon.

One stormy evening, as crackling lightning flashed across the dark sky, Rusty saw something magical happen. A bolt of lightning struck the baseball field, and when it did, an ordinary baseball began to glow with a soft orange light, just like Rusty's fur!

"Hello, little friend," the baseball seemed to say, though Rusty couldn't tell if it was his imagination or magic. "I'm Lightning Ball, and I grant wishes to those with kind hearts."

Rusty's wish was simple. He wished he could play baseball with the children, but he was afraid they'd be scared of a fox.

The next morning, when the children returned to the field, they couldn't believe their eyes. Rusty was there, holding the magical baseball in his mouth, his orange fur shining in the sunlight. The ball glowed encouragingly, and the children's fear turned to wonder.

"He wants to play!" exclaimed a girl named Mia, and to everyone's surprise, Rusty could indeed play. He was amazing at catching and running!
