The Fox and the Swimming Bull

Rusty was a fox with the brightest orange hair anyone had ever seen. His fur shimmered like autumn leaves in the sunshine, and his tail was fluffier than a cloud. Every morning, Rusty would trot through the meadow, his orange coat blazing a trail through the tall grass.

One hot summer day, Rusty heard a strange sound. *Splash. Splash.* Curious, he followed the noise to the creek where he found Barnaby, the biggest bull in the valley. But Barnaby wasn't grazing or charging. He was standing at the water's edge, looking nervous.

"I want to go swimming," Barnaby mooed sadly. "All the ducks and fish do it. But I'm too heavy. I'll sink."

Rusty's perky ears twitched. "That's not true! My friend Oliver the otter taught me something amazing. Water holds you up when you relax. It's called floating!"

Barnaby's giant eyes widened. "But my hooves... they're so heavy..."

"Watch me!" Rusty scrambled to the bank and paddled into the cool creek. "See? I'm not sinking, and I have all this fluffy orange hair weighing me down!"

The bull took one tiny step forward. Then another. The water lapped at his ankles, then his knees. Rusty swam circles around him, cheering.

"You're doing it, Barnaby! Keep going!"

Barnaby took a deep breath and let his heavy body slide into the water. For a moment, nothing happened. Then... *whoosh!* The big bull floated! He kicked his powerful legs and glided through the water like a boat.

"I'm swimming!" Barnaby cried, joy splashing everywhere. "I'm really swimming!"

Rusty paddled beside his new friend, grinning from ear to pointed ear. "See? Sometimes the things we think will pull us down are exactly what help us float."

From that day on, every afternoon brought the same wonderful sight: an orange fox swimming beside a happy bull, two unlikely friends proving that courage and kindness come in all shapes and sizes.
