The Fox and the Starlight Pool
Felix was not like other foxes. While they had reddish-brown fur, his hair was the color of a bright orange sunset, glowing softly even in the dark. But what made Felix truly special was his love for running.
Every evening, when the forest grew quiet, Felix would go running through the trees. He'd leap over fallen logs, dash through meadows filled with sleeping flowers, and race the wind itself. He ran so fast that sometimes he left trails of sparkles behind him, like tiny stars falling from his orange fur.
One night, while running deeper into the forest than ever before, Felix discovered something magical. Hidden in a clearing was a pool that shimmered with liquid starlight. The water didn't just reflect the moon — it seemed to hold the sky itself, swirling with galaxies and nebulae.
Felix approached slowly, his heart beating fast. A small blue frog sat on a lily pad.
"This is the Starlight Pool," the frog croaked. "One sip grants you one wish."
Felix thought carefully. He could wish to be the fastest runner in all the world. He could wish for his orange hair to sparkle even brighter. He closed his eyes and imagined all the wonderful things he could ask for.
Then he remembered his friend Bella, a young rabbit who couldn't run because her leg was hurt. She sat alone every day while others played.
"I wish," Felix said softly, "for my friend Bella to run and play like everyone else."
The pool glowed golden. A warm breeze carried the magic away through the trees.
The next morning, Felix found Bella hopping joyfully through the meadow. Her leg was completely healed!
"Felix!" she cried. "I can run! Want to race?"
And so they ran together, the orange fox and the happy rabbit, under the watchful eyes of the stars. Felix had learned something wonderful: the best wishes are the ones we make for others.
From that day on, every time Felix went running, he made sure to run with friends, because magic is even better when it's shared.
