The Fox and the Sparkle Pyramid
Lily loved exploring the woods behind her house. One golden afternoon, a sleek orange fox with the brightest eyes she'd ever seen appeared on the path.
"Follow me!" the fox seemed to say without speaking, twitching its fluffy tail.
Lily followed deeper into the forest than she'd ever gone, until they reached a clearing she'd never seen before. There, glowing softly in the sunlight, stood a tiny pyramid made entirely of crystal. Inside, colorful lights swirled like captured rainbows.
"The Sparkle Pyramid," whispered a voice. Lily turned to see the strangest creature—a slow-moving, greenish figure with messy hair and clothes that looked centuries old. It shuffled toward her, arms outstretched.
Lily gasped. "A zombie!"
The creature shook its head slowly. "Not a zombie. Just... very, very tired. I am Guardian Zed, and I haven't had my vitamin sparkles in three hundred years."
The fox nudged Lily toward the pyramid. Inside, she saw what looked like glowing gems in every color of the rainbow—ruby red, emerald green, golden yellow, sapphire blue.
"Each color is a different vitamin," Zed explained groggily. "Red gives energy. Green makes you strong. Yellow helps you glow. Blue makes you wise. Without them, I become all slow and zombie-like."
Lily's eyes widened. Her mom always told her to eat colorful vegetables for vitamins!
"How do we wake them up?" Lily asked.
"Friendship," said the fox. "The pyramid responds to kindness."
Lily placed her hand on the crystal pyramid. "Wake up, little sparkles! My friend Zed needs you!"
The pyramid hummed, and the colorful lights danced brighter. Zed's eyes widened as the sparkles flowed into him like rivers of light. His greenish skin turned rosy. He stood tall, his messy hair smoothing into neat silver waves.
"Thank you!" Zex exclaimed, now full of energy. "I forgot that friendship is the most important vitamin of all."
The fox bowed its head. "And adventure is good for what ails you."
Lily ran home, her heart full of magic. That night, she ate every colorful vegetable on her plate—just in case they were magic too.
