The Fox and the Sleepy Zombie

Luna was a small orange fox with the fluffiest tail in the Enchanted Forest. Every night, she loved running through the moonlit meadows, chasing fireflies and dancing with the stars. But tonight was different—it was Halloween, and something magical was happening.

As Luna was running past the old oak tree, she heard a soft groan. "Oh dear," sighed a voice. "I'm so tired." Luna stopped running and peeked behind the tree. There stood a zombie! But he wasn't scary at all. He wore a patchwork jacket, and instead of being mean, he looked very sad.

"What's wrong?" Luna asked bravely.

The zombie sighed again. "I'm supposed to be scary tonight. Everyone expects zombies to be frightening. But I just want to sleep. I haven't slept in 200 years!"

Luna's tail twitched with excitement. "I have an idea! What if you come running with me? The wind will wake you up!"

The zombie smiled, showing one crooked tooth. "I'd love that! My name is Zed."

Together, they went running through the forest. Luna showed Zed how to leap over logs and chase autumn leaves. They ran past a pond where glowing fish swam, and through fields where pumpkins glowed like tiny lanterns.

"I'm not sleepy anymore!" Zed cheered, dancing under the stars. "This is the best Halloween ever!"

When the sun began to rise, Zed gave Luna a magical acorn. "Thank you for helping me. Now I know I don't have to be scary to be special. I can just be me—a zombie who loves running!"

Luna tucked the acorn in her fur. She learned something wonderful that night: sometimes the scariest-looking creatures just need a friend. And the best adventures happen when you're running with someone unexpected by your side.

Every Halloween after that, Luna and Zed went running together, spreading magic and joy throughout the Enchanted Forest.
