The Fox and the Sky-Ball Field

Felix was the only fox in the forest who couldn't climb trees. Every night, he watched his brothers and sisters leap into the branches, while he stayed below, his fluffy tail drooping.

One evening, while moping near the old oak tree, Felix noticed something strange. A thick black cable snaked through the grass, glowing with twinkling blue lights like stars trapped inside a tube. Curious, he followed it with his nose.

The cable wound through the forest, over a babbling brook, and up a hill. At the top, Felix gasped. The cable ended at a wooden baseball field floating in the clouds! The bases were made of crystals, and the pitcher's mound was a cloud puffball.

"Want to play?" called a voice.

Felix looked up. A girl with rainbow hair sat on a cloud, holding a baseball that sparkled like sunshine.

"I'm Luna," she said, tossing the ball. "I've been waiting for a friend."

Felix caught the ball in his mouth—spit it out—and grinned. "I'm Felix! But I've never played baseball."

"In the Sky-Ball Field, anyone can play!" Luna laughed. She pointed to the cable. "This is the Wonder Cable. It brings lonely hearts to friendship."

They played until the moon rose. Felix discovered he could run faster than the wind, and Luna taught him to hit home runs that turned into shooting stars. When Felix finally caught the winning ball, something magical happened—his paws grew wings!

"You always could climb, Felix," Luna whispered. "You just needed to believe."

Felix soared into the sky trees, then landed beside his new friend.

"Will I ever see you again?" Felix asked.

Luna touched the glowing cable. "Whenever you feel lonely, follow the Wonder Cable. Friendship is never far away."

Now Felix climbs higher than any fox. But every night, he returns to the Sky-Ball Field, where friendship shines brighter than any star.
