The Fox and the Crystal Pyramid

Freddy Fox loved baseball more than anything in the world. Every afternoon, he would trot to the sunny meadow near Whispering Woods, his favorite baseball glove clamped tight in his teeth. His best friend, Barnaby Bear, would already be there, waiting with his big mitt and an even bigger smile.

One breezy afternoon, something magical happened. As Freddy chased a home run ball into the woods, he stumbled upon something sparkling beneath an ancient oak tree. It was a crystal pyramid, no bigger than a baseball, glowing with soft rainbow light.

"What do you think it is?" Barnaby asked, padding over on his gentle paws.

Freddi's bushy tail twitched with excitement. "It's beautiful!" He picked it up carefully. Suddenly, a warm voice echoed from the pyramid: "I grant one wish to those whose hearts are true."

The friends gasped. Freddy's eyes sparkled. "I wish I could be the fastest baseball player ever! Then I'd never miss a catch!"

Barnaby looked at the pyramid thoughtfully. "Or maybe we could wish for endless honey?" His tummy rumbled.

The pyramid began to dim. "Magic born of selfish wishes fades quickly," the voice whispered. "But wishes shared shine brightest."

Freddy and Barnaby looked at each other. Suddenly, they understood.

"We wish," they said together, "that every child in the meadow could have a friend to play baseball with!"

The crystal pyramid blazed with brilliant light, then dissolved into hundreds of sparkling baseballs that rained gently around them. From that day on, the meadow was filled with laughter and friendship. Freddy and Barnaby learned that the best magic isn't about getting what you want—it's about sharing what you have.

And every time they played baseball, they remembered: some wishes are too big to fit in one heart, but perfect for two.
