The Forest of Lost Wishes
Luna the fox loved swimming in the Moonlight Pond, where the water sparkled like tiny stars. Every night, she would slip into the cool water and paddle around, dreaming of adventures beyond the forest.
One evening, a grumpy bear named Barnaby sat by the pond, watching her. "I used to swim," he sighed. "But I'm too old now."
Luna floated closer. "You're never too old for wishes!"
Barnaby shook his shaggy head. "The Wishing Tree deep in the woods grants dreams, but a zombie squirrel guards it. He's not scary, just very, very grumpy because he lost his tail."
Luna's eyes widened. A zombie squirrel! How exciting!
"Let's find him together," she said.
As they ventured into the forest, something rustled in the bushes. Luna's sharp ears twitched. "Someone's following us!"
It was Pip — a tiny mouse who fancied himself a spy. "I heard everything!" Pip squeaked importantly. "I know a secret path to the Wishing Tree. The zombie squirrel sleeps at noon."
The three unlikely friends crept through the forest. When they reached the Wishing Tree, its leaves shimmered in rainbow colors. The zombie squirrel dozed on a branch, his bushy tail miraculously grown back!
"He's not grumpy anymore," whispered Luna.
The squirrel opened one eye. "My tail grew back because someone made a wish — not for themselves, but for a friend."
Barnaby stepped forward. "I wish..." he hesitated, then smiled at Luna. "I wish for Luna to have the biggest adventure ever."
The Wishing Tree glowed golden. Suddenly, Luna could breathe underwater! She discovered an entire underwater kingdom beneath Moonlight Pond, where fish played hide-and-seek and turtles told ancient stories.
That night, Luna realized the best adventures weren't about wishes granted — they were about friends made along the way.
