The Emerald Sphinx's Garden
Felix was no ordinary fox. While other foxes chased rabbits, Felix grew spinach in his garden. He loved the crisp green leaves and dreamed of something magical.
One day, while tending his plants, Felix noticed something strange. A tiny golden pyramid had appeared between the spinach rows. It shimmered like captured sunshine.
Inside the pyramid sat a miniature sphinx, no bigger than a teacup, with emerald wings that sparkled like dewdrops.
"Who dares disturb my garden nap?" the sphinx blinked her jeweled eyes.
Felix trembled but stood tall. "I'm Felix. I grow spinach."
The sphinx laughed, a sound like tiny bells. "A gardening fox! How delightful. I am Cleopatra, guardian of the Green Pyramid. I've waited centuries for someone who loves plants as much as riddles."
"I love riddles!" Felix's tail wagged.
Cleopatra's eyes gleamed. "Then answer this: What grows but never moves, feeds but never eats, and gives life without asking anything in return?"
Felix thought carefully. "A garden!"
"Correct!" Cleopatra clapped her paws. "You may make one wish."
Felix looked at his wilting spinach. The summer drought had been harsh. "I wish my garden would never thirst again."
Cleopatra smiled and touched her pyramid to the ground. Emerald light spread through the soil, and suddenly, lush spinach plants towered around them, their leaves gleaming with magical dew.
"But there's one condition," Cleopatra said. "You must share your harvest with all the hungry animals."
"I was planning to anyway," Felix said honestly.
The sphinx's smile widened. "That's why I chose you, kind fox."
And so, Felix's garden became a magical place where everyone feasted on spinach, and the little sphinx lived in her golden pyramid, watching over the most wonderful garden in the world.
