The Electric Pyramid Game
Lily and Max were playing catch in the backyard when the storm clouds rolled in. Thick and purple, they looked like castles in the sky.
"We should go inside," Max said, tossing the baseball to Lily. But then something amazing happened.
A bolt of lightning struck the old oak tree. Instead of burning it, the electricity swirled around the trunk, carving the wood into the shape of a tiny pyramid. The pyramid glowed with a soft, golden light.
"What is it?" Lily whispered, approaching the wooden pyramid. The baseball in her hand suddenly grew warm.
"I think it's magic," Max said.
The pyramid floated up from the grass. Inside it, they could see tiny people playing—the most amazing baseball game ever! The players zoomed around the diamond like shooting stars.
"They need help!" Lily cried. The tiny team was losing. Their magical pyramid field was fading.
Without thinking, Lily tossed her baseball toward the glowing pyramid. The ball passed right through the wooden surface and suddenly, the tiny players had a real ball! They cheered with voices like tinkling bells.
"Now what?" Max asked.
"They're playing for something important," Lily said. She watched as the tiny pyramid field brightened with every hit, every run, every cheer. The team was coming alive!
The lightning swirled back around the oak tree, and a voice rumbled like gentle thunder: "Thank you for believing in magic. The pyramid protects all who dream big."
The wooden pyramid dissolved into sparkles that rained down on Lily and Max. In their hands appeared two baseball cards—pictures of them as heroes, standing together inside a glowing pyramid.
"Best game ever," Max grinned.
Lily smiled, clutching her new card. "Next time, we play inside the pyramid!"
