The Dragon's Garden Pool
Oliver discovered the secret pool behind his house on a Tuesday afternoon. It wasn't an ordinary swimming pool. The water shimmered with rainbow colors, and tiny fish made of sunlight darted through its depths.
"Come in!" called a voice from beneath the surface.
Oliver stepped closer. An orange fish with silver scales popped up. Not a regular orange fish — an actual orange, floating like a boat, with a fish's tail!
"I'm Coral," the orange fish said. "This pool belongs to my friend, but she's been sleeping for a very long time. Only something special can wake her."
Oliver noticed his lunch sandwich wrapped beside the pool. Inside was fresh spinach from his mother's garden. He hesitated, then dropped a leaf into the water.
The spinach didn't sink. Instead, it glowed green and expanded, growing larger and larger until it became a magnificent dragon made entirely of spinach leaves!
"FINALLY!" the spinach dragon stretched. "A hundred years I've waited!" She dipped her head toward Oliver. "I'm Sparkle. This pool is my garden home."
Coral swam around Sparkle happily. "Oliver woke you!"
"Because he shared his food without thinking about himself," Sparkle said wisely. "That's true magic — kindness."
The pool erupted with light. Flowers bloomed instantly along its edges. Butterflies made of water droplets filled the air. Oliver laughed with wonder.
"Visit any time," Sparkle said. "But remember: the pool opens only to those who give freely."
Oliver ran home, his heart full of magic. That night, he dreamed of dragons made of vegetables and fish made of fruit, swimming together in friendship. Some secrets, he learned, are best kept between friends who know that sharing is the greatest adventure of all.
