The Dog Who Saved the Zombie
Max was a golden retriever with floppy ears and a heart full of adventure. Every morning, he would trot to the park with his favorite toy—a bright blue padel racket he'd found near the tennis courts. Max didn't know how to play the real game, but he invented his own version, batting at falling leaves and dancing butterflies.
One cloudy afternoon, while Max was practicing his padel swings near the old oak tree, he heard a sad groan. Hidden behind the twisted roots sat a creature with greenish skin and tangled hair. It looked like a zombie from Max's storybooks, but this zombie wasn't scary at all. He was crying.
"What's wrong?" Max asked, dropping his padel racket gently.
The zombie sniffled. "Everyone runs away when they see me. I just want someone to play with."
Max's tail thumped happily. "I'll play with you! Do you like padel?"
The zombie's eyes widened. "I've never played before. Is it fun?"
Max showed him how to hold the racket, and soon they were hitting a tennis ball back and forth. The zombie's clumsy swings turned into graceful strokes. With every hit, his green skin became a little rosier. His tangled hair smoothed out. The more they laughed and played, the more the zombie transformed.
By sunset, the zombie wasn't a zombie anymore. He was just a regular boy named Leo, who had been under a lonely wizard's curse. "Friendship broke the spell," Leo said, grinning. "Thank you, Max."
From that day on, Max and Leo played padel together every afternoon. Max learned that sometimes the scariest-looking creatures just need a friend, and that kindness can work magic better than any spell.
And whenever Max saw someone sitting alone, he would trot over with his blue padel racket, ready to make another friend and discover another adventure.
